Exercise 10-B.
In this exercise we will practice pronouncing the preposition
fii
‘in’ before a noun with the article.
Note again how the ’a
of the article ‘al-
is dropped after a word ending in a vowel. And in pronunciation,
the vowel in fii
becomes shortened to fi before the article.
That is, a phrase like fii l-bayt
‘in the house’ is actually pronounced
fil bayt.
